5 Ways to Creative with Intention

Create a ritual

When I sit down to create I have a ritual of setting the mood and intention to create. I light a candle, grab a mug of something yummy, my favorite chocolate. I do a short meditation with an intention. It really helps me be in the moment of creating.

Leave judgment at the door

This is so important. Be kind to yourself. This is a sacred space and the more you honor that, the space will honor you. Just create and enjoy the moment.

Layering inspiration with your style

I have a class that I created with this intention. NOTHING is original but you. You can gather inspiration and add your own flare. Do not worry about gathering inspiration, especially when you are new. This is how you find your own style. (Authentically Inspired Journaling)

Enjoy the flow…work on more than one project at a time

I normally have a couple projects out so that I am not waiting for things to dry. That way I can continue to let the flow happen naturally. This is also helpful if you are stuck. Move on and come back to it later.

Follow your intuition

Sometimes you will have a prompting to do something different and you might feel some hesitancy. Just go with it. The more you listen to that intuition, the stronger it will become.

Creativity has always been a large part of my life. I believe that everyone is a creative, some people just have not discovered their passion yet. My goal is to share the message, “Go Forth and Create!”

Mixed media is my love. I thrive on the freedom of working in any medium I want and combining watercolor, ink, acrylics, fabrics-everything is fair game.

Living in Alaska, I am surrounded by beauty. I find the scenery and the people equally inspiring. the world is endlessly providing inspiration and my mission is to take full advantage. My favorites include color, nature, family, books, people and so much more.
