September Journal and Art Journal Prompts

Journal Writing Prompts:

  1. Embracing Change:

    • September marks a time of transition. Write about a recent change in your life, how it has affected you, and what you've learned from it. Reflect on how embracing change can open new doors.

  2. Harvesting Gratitude:

    • As the season shifts to autumn, focus on the concept of harvest. What are you grateful for that has "grown" in your life this past year? Write about the people, experiences, or accomplishments that you are harvesting gratitude for.

  3. Balancing Act:

    • The equinox is a time of balance between light and dark. Write about the areas in your life where you feel balanced and those where you seek more equilibrium. How can you bring more balance into your daily routine?

  4. Letting Go:

    • Autumn is a season of letting go, just as trees shed their leaves. Write about something you need to release or let go of in your life. Explore your feelings about this process and how it might lead to new growth.

Art Challenge Tutorial

Art Journal Prompts:

  1. Seasonal Color Palette:

    • Create an art journal page using a color palette inspired by the changing leaves of autumn. Incorporate textures that remind you of the crispness of fall, like leaf prints or layered papers.

  2. Symbols of Harvest:

    • Use symbols of harvest, like pumpkins, wheat, or apples, to create a collage or mixed media piece. Let these symbols represent the abundance in your life.

  3. Mushroom Love:

    • I do not know about your but I love painting little mushrooms. Create little mushroom fodder for your journal. Create a spread that includes these elements.

  4. Autumn Leaves:

    • Collect leaves or use leaf shapes as stencils. Create a layered background with these shapes, then add journaling or other elements that speak to the theme of letting go and making space for new possibilities.

These prompts should inspire meaningful reflections and creative expression throughout September!

Eleaca Young

Creativity has always been a large part of my life. I believe that everyone is a creative, some people just have not discovered their passion yet. My goal is to share the message, “Go Forth and Create!”

Mixed media is my love. I thrive on the freedom of working in any medium I want and combining watercolor, ink, acrylics, fabrics-everything is fair game.

Living in Alaska, I am surrounded by beauty. I find the scenery and the people equally inspiring. the world is endlessly providing inspiration and my mission is to take full advantage. My favorites include color, nature, family, books, people and so much more.
