My Favorite Watercolor Brushes

I have been using the Silver Black Velvet brushes for awhile now and I can’t imagine life without them. I was trying to articulate exactly why I love these brushes so much.

  1. This is going to seem silly but the paint on the handle never chips off. I have had brushes before that I really liked but the handle wears out and the paint chips off.

  2. Speaking of the handle, it has a nice tapered one. It fits nicely in my hands.

  3. The crimp on the brush is not noticeable. It is smooth and blends into the handle nicely.

  4. The belly of the brush holds the perfect amount of liquid for my liking. It is very natural for me.

  5. The hair of the brush is a combination of natural and synthetic. I do not know all the science to this but I am told this is the most important component to a brush. All i can say it that it is absolutely fabulous.

  6. The tip of the brush holds its point. So many times I use one brush for the project. I could not do this with my other brushes.

Mixed media is my love. I thrive on the freedom of working in any medium I want and combining watercolor, ink, acrylics, fabrics-everything is fair game.
