Her Voice Matters

I began this journal entry with a stream of consciousness, allowing my thoughts to flow freely onto the page. As I continued, I embellished it with stencils and doodles, letting my creativity take over.

Somewhere in the process, I knew I wanted to incorporate a depiction of a girl. After adding her to the page, I paused. There was something about this particular illustration that felt significant to me. I decided to let it sit overnight, allowing myself the space to reflect.

The next morning, I revisited the page. It's remarkable how often a fresh perspective can shed new light on our creations. Upon further reflection, I felt compelled to add a crown above the girl's head. It seemed fitting—every girl deserves to feel like royalty in her own right.

Amongst the scribbles on the page, I found myself jotting down thoughts about the multifaceted nature of art. Each piece carries layers of meaning, some of which may even be different from what the creator originally intended. A viewer might connect with a work of art in a completely unexpected way, finding significance that the artist never anticipated.

This particular journal spread holds personal significance for me, but I recognize that its meaning may not be immediately apparent to others. Some might glance at it and see nothing more than a collection of shapes and colors. Others might discover something within it that resonates deeply with their own experiences. Perhaps, in sharing this piece, someone else will catch a glimpse of the world through my eyes.

It may not be the most visually stunning spread I've ever created, but I'm proud of it nonetheless. Like the layers of paint and ink that adorn its surface, this piece is a testament to the depth and complexity of artistic expression.

Creativity has always been a large part of my life. I believe that everyone is a creative, some people just have not discovered their passion yet. My goal is to share the message, “Go Forth and Create!”

Mixed media is my love. I thrive on the freedom of working in any medium I want and combining watercolor, ink, acrylics, fabrics-everything is fair game.

Living in Alaska, I am surrounded by beauty. I find the scenery and the people equally inspiring. the world is endlessly providing inspiration and my mission is to take full advantage. My favorites include color, nature, family, books, people and so much more.
